Market hours & data
When the scanners run, what data they use, and what happens around the close.
Overview
PureTrace runs through the full US trading day: pre-market, regular hours, and after-hours. The same gates fire across all three sessions. Sound and visual cues work the same way at 4:00 AM ET as they do at 3:30 PM ET.
After the close, an end-of-day snapshot persists the day's leaderboard to history. The next morning's pre-market session starts with a fresh state, except for the persisted session highs that are restored on bootstrap.
How it works
Live tape comes from Polygon. News comes from Benzinga. Float comes from SEC filings, parsed against share-class structures and refreshed when filings amend. Daily maintenance runs at 03:30 ET to prune state and re-bootstrap the universe. The EOD snapshot runs at 20:05 ET.
If the worker restarts mid-session, bootstrap loads the day's persisted state, the reseed step replays the tape forward from the last persisted point, and live ingest resumes. The provenance of every session high is recorded so a post-session review can tell whether an HOD originated from live tape, a restored value, or a reseed.
