Scanner

The low float scanner that reads the float off the filing.

Every row shows the tradeable float from the latest 10-K, 10-Q or S-1 on file, with the filing date on hover. Set a float ceiling once and every panel, Top Gainers, HOD and Running Up, only shows names under it.

Why float decides the size of the move

On a $2 stock running 80% on a press release, the float is the difference between a trade and a disaster. A small float means a small supply of shares to absorb the buying, which is why the same headline moves one name 8% and another 80%. If you cannot verify the float, you cannot size the trade.

What SEC-verified means here

Total shares outstanding minus restricted, insider and treasury holdings, taken from the most recent SEC filing on file (10-K, 10-Q, S-1 amendments), parsed against the share-class structure and refreshed when filings amend. Stale values flag visibly so you know when a number is dated. Hover any float value to see the source filing and the date it was filed.

Setting a float ceiling

The filter lives on your account: set the ceiling once on the Settings page and Top Gainers, HOD, Running Up and the catalyst panel all respect it. It is loaded server-side on first paint, so the panel renders pre-filtered rather than flashing the whole universe first.

Low float plus RVol, read together

RVol is today's cumulative volume divided by the 10-day average of full daily volumes; 2.0 means twice a typical full day already. A low float with rising RVol is the row worth a click: the catalyst panel is one click away and the chart is on the same screen.

Float versus shares outstanding, the short version

Shares outstanding is everything issued. Float is what can actually trade: outstanding minus the shares locked up by insiders, restrictions and the treasury. The number on the filing is the one PureTrace shows, with the date it was filed.

What PureTrace does not do

There is no float-rotation column and no short-interest column. The float ceiling is a maximum, not a range. Float and RVol can be blank for a moment right after a ticker first appears, before enrichment lands; the filter tolerates that on purpose so the panel never flashes empty.
