What a gapper looks like on the row
Chg % against the prior session close is the default sort, so the biggest premarket gap is the top row. RVol shows today's cumulative volume against the 10-day average of full daily volumes. Float is the tradeable float from the latest filing. The CAT dot lights gold when a headline landed since the prior close, which in premarket means the overnight news.
Does the 4 AM high count as high of day?
Yes. The session high is tracked from the first premarket print and floored at the prior session's high, so a premarket break above both is a real HOD alert with the same sound and flash as one at 10:15. There is no reset at 9:30.
The overnight catalyst
The CAT dot window opens at the prior trading day's close (16:00 ET). Weekends and overnight gaps walk back to the last weekday, so Monday at 4 AM still shows Friday's after-hours headlines. Click the symbol for the catalyst panel with the most recent five days of Benzinga headlines.
Filters that matter before the open
Your saved filter applies to every panel: a price range and a float ceiling, set once on the Settings page, loaded server-side so the first paint is already scoped. In premarket, a float ceiling is the fastest way to keep the panel on the names that can actually move.
What PureTrace does not do
There is no gap-percent filter and no market-cap filter today. Sort by Chg % and use the price range and float ceiling instead. There is no premarket-only mode; the same three panels run through all three sessions.
Sessions covered
Premarket 4:00 to 9:30 ET. Regular hours 9:30 to 16:00 ET. After-hours 16:00 to 20:00 ET. Sound and visual cues work the same way at 4:00 AM as they do at 3:30 PM. Start the trial before Monday's premarket and the first session is live.
