Audio alerts

Audio cues plus visual flashes so you catch the moment, even when your eyes are on the chart.

Overview

There are two alert types: HOD and Running Up. Each has its own sound so you can tell them apart without looking. Each briefly flashes the row gold on fire. New alerts prepend to their panel.

The same ticker re-firing the same alert within a short window does not re-trigger the sound or stack a new row. Instead, the existing row count increments (×2, ×3). The panel and the audio stay calm.

How it works

The worker is the source of truth for alert firing. When the gate logic confirms a fire, the worker writes the alert to the database and broadcasts it over the realtime channel. The browser receives the event, plays the sound, flashes the row, and updates the panel. Cooldowns are enforced server-side so the audio behavior matches the panel behavior.

Reference

HOD

Gold row flash, HOD-specific sound, prepended to the HOD panel.

Running Up

Gold row flash, Running Up sound, prepended to the Running Up panel.

Repeat alerts

The existing row count updates (×2, ×3). No new flash or sound inside the cooldown window.

Controls

The dashboard header has a sound controls cluster with a mute toggle and test buttons so you can verify audio is working without waiting for a live fire.
