Catalysts & news
Click any ticker for the news driving the move. The 'why' is one click, not a tab switch.
Overview
Every ticker has a catalyst panel. Click the symbol in any row to open it. The most recent Benzinga headline pins at the top with its teaser; older headlines list below in a scrollable feed. The panel updates as new headlines land.
The CAT dot in the row is the at-a-glance version. Gold means a headline landed since the prior trading day closed. Dark means nothing recent. The dot and the panel use different windows on purpose: the panel keeps a longer history for research, the dot only signals what is current.
How it works
Headlines stream in real time from Benzinga. The catalyst panel keeps the most recent five days of headlines per ticker so you have context when you click in to research.
The CAT dot uses a tighter window: it lights when news for the ticker has landed since the prior trading day's close at 16:00 ET. Weekends and overnight gaps are handled by walking back to the last weekday so Monday morning still sees Friday's after-hours catalysts.
Reference
Catalyst panel window
The most recent five days of headlines per ticker, ranked by recency.
CAT dot window
Lights when news has landed since the prior trading day's close (16:00 ET). The dot has tiered freshness so a headline from the last 30 minutes reads differently from one from earlier the same day, and again from one from after-hours yesterday.
Dot states
- Gold. At least one headline in the dot window.
- Dark. No headlines in the dot window. The panel may still have older headlines from the five-day feed.
Headline ranking
Most recent first. The latest article pins at the top with its teaser; older headlines list below.
