HOD alerts

Fires the moment a small-cap breaks its session high, confirmed against the tape.

Overview

HOD alerts mark the moment a ticker prints a new session high. The alert fires once on each confirmed break. The row prepends to the HOD panel, flashes gold, and a distinctive sound plays so you catch the moment even if your eyes are on the chart.

If the same ticker breaks its session high again later in the day, the existing row updates with a count badge (×2, ×3) instead of stacking a fresh row. The panel stays clean.

Not every new print of a high is an HOD alert. Single-wick fakeouts, sub-penny chops, and re-fires inside the cooldown window are filtered out. The goal is the actual breakout, not the noise around it.

How it works

Every ticker the scanner watches has a session high tracked in real time, established at the open and updated on every tick. When the last price exceeds it by a meaningful margin and tape velocity confirms, the alert fires. A cents-floor cutoff keeps sub-penny noise off the panel. Cooldown logic prevents the same ticker from re-firing within seconds when it chops at the high.

After a worker restart, today's session highs are restored from persisted state and reseeded from the tape before live ingest resumes, so a mid-session deploy does not produce false HODs.

What does not

Single-wick prints above the high that do not hold.
Sub-penny prints below the cents floor.
Re-fires inside the cooldown window.

Repeat alerts

The same ticker breaking its HOD again updates the existing row with a count badge (×2, ×3) instead of stacking a new row.
