What a day trading stock scanner should do
Whole-market day trading stock scanners cover every listed name. This one covers small-cap momentum during US hours, and gets three things right.
Size without guessing the float
Float verified against SEC filings. The number you see is the number on file, with the filing date on hover.
Know why it is moving, in one click
Catalyst headlines inline. The ‘why’ is one click, not a tab switch.
Charts where the scanner is
10-second to daily, VWAP / EMA / MACD. Detach any chart to its own window when you need it on a second screen.
Three panels, one screen.
Each panel answers a different question about the same tape. Pick one to see how it reads.

Every small cap ranked by percent change against the prior close, from 4:00 AM ET. The biggest move is the top row.
Built for the intraday session
Sessions covered
Premarket 4:00 to 9:30 ET, regular hours 9:30 to 16:00 ET, after-hours 16:00 to 20:00 ET. The session high is tracked from the first premarket print, so a 4 AM break fires the same HOD alert as one at 10:15.
Filters that follow you
A price range and a float ceiling, set once on the Settings page and applied to every panel. They load server-side on first paint, so the scanner renders already scoped to the names you trade.
Alerts you hear
HOD and Running Up each have their own sound, sub-second from the tick, so you catch the moment during a fast tape even if you stepped away. Repeat alerts on the same ticker stack as a count instead of a new row.
Charts on the same feed
10-second, 1-minute, 5-minute and daily charts with VWAP, EMA and MACD, on the feed the alerts fire on. Detach any chart to its own window for a second screen.
The catalyst, on the row
The CAT dot lights gold when a headline landed since the prior close. Click the symbol for the last five days of Benzinga headlines, without leaving the scanner.
The float you can trace
Read off the latest 10-K, 10-Q or S-1 on file, with the filing date on hover, so you can size a small-cap trade on the number that is actually on file.
What PureTrace does not do
No options flow, futures or crypto, and nothing built for swing trades or overnight holds. There is no float-rotation or short-interest column, and no gap-percent or market-cap filter today. It is a day trading scanner for small-cap momentum during US market hours, and only that.

From the founder
Why PureTrace exists
Two years into trading small-caps, I was paying $197 a month for a scanner that gave me charts I already had, AI noise I didn't need, and float data that was sometimes wrong by orders of magnitude.
On a $2 stock running 80% on a press release, that's the difference between a trade and a disaster.
So I built PureTrace. Three scanners. SEC-verified float. Catalyst inline. $79 a month.
I run it every session. If you trade small-caps during US market hours, you'll know in a day whether it's for you.
You’ll know in a day.
